Aircraft de-icing systems
Smékal, Aleš ; Bencalík, Karol (referee) ; Třetina, Karel (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis is familiarization of me with icing on aircrafts. It includes the distribution systems for anti-icing and de-icing, energy intensity and efficiency are also included. It contains icing situations, which are very dangerous for aircrafts. Thesis shows possibilities, how to prevent ice formation, detect icing and keep pilot informed. And finally remove ice.
Experimental research of fluids against icing of overhead wires
Málek, Jan ; Polach, Pavel (referee) ; Galas, Radovan (advisor)
In this thesis, commercially available anti-icing fluids were tested. A methodology of assessment was designed for the effect of anti-icing fluids on the rapidity of ice growth and its development over time. These tests were conducted on a device constructed for the purpose of the thesis. The solutions were tested for their effect on the ice adhesion to a contact wire. The effect of the solutions on the tribological behaviour of the collector strip and contact wire was described. The experiments were supplemented by mensuration of the size of the contact angle of the solutions on the copper surface. However, these fluids anti-icing effect is relatively short-term. On the contrary, the thesis shows that even a small amount of anti-icing solution on the surface of the contact wire can help to significantly lower the ice adhesion.
Simulation of headlight cover lens de-icing and its application in automotive industry
Magdon, Jan ; Vakhrushev, Alexander (referee) ; Boháček, Jan (advisor)
Aircraft de-icing systems
Fazekaš, Slavomír ; Bencalík, Karol (referee) ; Třetina, Karel (advisor)
The aim of my bachelor thesis is to make the acquaintance of the danger of ice coating on airplanes, it s creation and the way of removing. The study involves the description of particular systems designed to protect airplanes against the ice coating and their dividing into deicing and anti-icing systems. The systems are divided by the exploited energy and by the place of installing. The emphasis is centred on the efficiency and the energy intensity of these systems. A part of my study also deals with the removing of ice coating arised on ground and with the description of basic parameters, which must be fulfilled by these systems according to the flying rules.
Protection of Overhead Lines Against Climatic Factors
Petr, Pavel ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
Overhead power lines are devices on the transmission of electrical energy, which must resist the mechanical and electrical strain. The criterion for correct suggestion of overhead lines is the control of the limit level loads. This thesis aims to discuss the weather influences acting on the wires overhead. The first part focuses on the distribution of climatic factors influencing the wires overhead wires and calculations of strain for different weather factors. The second part is then focused on the protection of overhead against the negative effects caused by wind and icing. This thesis therefore deals primarily with the wals of de-icing of conductor overheads and with the calculations needed for the heating of wires. There are presented calculation procedures for determining basking current on de-icing from the conductors.
